THE VILLAGES – The Men of Distinction, a Christian men’s group affiliated with Christian Worship Center of Leesburg, Florida, attended the showing of The Forge, a newly released Christian movie on Friday evening, September 20th, 2024 at the Old Mill Playhouse in The Villages, Florida.

The movie shows how mentoring young men can be a positive force in an individual’s life, helping them to overcome life’s challenges.  Another theme concerns Christian discipleship.  The Forge was written and directed by evangelical Christian filmmakers Alex and Stephen Kendrick.  The two brothers also created War Room.

The protagonist is Isaiah Wright, played by Aspen Kennedy, who is being raised by his single mother Cynthia (Priscilla C. Shirer).  Isaiah’s life revolves around playing basketball and video games. His Mother, a devout Christian, is praying for him to be more responsible, go to college, and get a job.  In his attempts to get a job, Isaiah meets Joshua Moore (Cameron Arnett), a businessman. Despite a shaky beginning, Isaiah and Joshua develop a solid relationship.

Highly recommended and should be seen by men who want to be mentors, young men who need guidance and accountability, and churches that want to disciple men.

“This movie has motivated the Men of Distinction to be more active with mentoring males in our community”, said Pastor John Christian.
